SL Contemporary a capella society visit PARSEC
Had great fun today with the SL CACS. They had an interesting time trying to figure out the solution, trying many different ways of singing with the Parsec instrument.

Tastefully done, Dizzy, and well edited!
The most fascinating part (to me, anyhow) was how, even when we singers were told pitch didn’t affect the rise and fall of the black spheres, we still gravitated to the music pitch of the ambient sounds in the room, even those of us who couldn’t hear those sounds.
It’s a fun way for vocalists and other outgoing communicators to get together. I think I will bring some of my students taking voice lessons in Second Life here. It’d be a fun workout! Any objections to my programmign another set of gestures for your room so only one or two vocalist can create the finale effect?

Oh please do Mentor ! Yes we really want people to come and interact with Parsec in lots of different ways. Some people have been and played Robbie Dingo’s hyperisntruments with it and I know Lillie Yifu is currently making a gestural triggering system to play tunes with the main instrument strike tones. It would be great to have lots of different ways of controlling it. Please give me a shout when you do and I’ll come and film some footage
